Six Nations Study NDMC’s ‘Smart Governance’ Model
New Delhi:- A 40-member delegation of senior civil servants from Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Palestine, Nigeria and Niger visited the New Delhi Municipal Council NDMC on Tuesday to study “Best Practices in Civic Governance.” The programme was organised by NDMC in association with the National Centre for Good Governance NCGG.NDMC Secretary Shri Rahul Singh said an integrated approach to sustainable development has made New Delhi one of the country’s cleanest, greenest and most citizen-friendly capitals. He highlighted the newly launched “Anupam Colony Project” which promotes in-locality solid waste management, and explained NDMC’s financial management framework and revenue sources.Medical Officer of Health Dr Shakuntala Srivastava gave a detailed presentation on sanitation initiatives. She outlined mechanised sweeping, night cleaning operations, segregation at source and the RRR - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle model. She also briefed the delegation on the development of Anupam Colonies, green-cover expansion, mist sprayers on electric poles to curb air pollution, and scientific e-waste disposal.NDMC showcased its Integrated Command and Control Centre and e-governance push. With over 49 services online and the NDMC 311 mobile app for citizen engagement, the Council has built a transparent and efficient digital ecosystem, officials said.Senior officers including the Director Finance, Chief Engineer Civil, Director Horticulture and Director Training were present and shared sector-specific innovations. The visiting officials appreciated NDMC’s urban management model and discussed adopting similar practices in their countries.Dr A.P. Singh from NCGG delivered the vote of thanks. He said such exchanges strengthen knowledge partnerships and advance the global agenda for clean, green and sustainable cities.
