New Delhi, May 15, 2026 :- Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta on Thursday distributed appointment letters to 109 employees appointed on compassionate grounds and Medical Health Cards to 878 contractual employees at a function organised by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) at NDCC Convention Centre, Jai Singh Road.Delhi Government Minister Shri Parvesh Sahib Singh, New Delhi MP Ms. Bansuri Swaraj, NDMC Chairperson Shri Keshav Chandra, Vice Chairman Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal, Council Members Shri Dinesh Partap Singh, Shri Anil Valmiki and Ms. Sarita Tomar, and Financial Advisor Shri Rakesh Kumar were present on the occasion.“NDMC is a Family”: CM Rekha Gupta 
Addressing the gathering, CM Rekha Gupta said NDMC is not merely an institution but a family, where public representatives, officers, and employees work together in service of the nation. She said NDMC area is the center of the country’s administrative and democratic framework, and employees here play a vital role in enhancing the image of the national capital.The Chief Minister said that through continuous initiatives, 109 families have received new hope in the form of compassionate appointments. “These appointments are not just jobs, but lifelong support systems that provide stability and security to the future of these families,” she said.She expressed special happiness that nearly 90 women are among those who received appointments and exuded confidence that all selected candidates would work with dedication to strengthen the resolve of “Viksit Bharat, Viksit Delhi”.Calling the distribution of Medical Health Cards to contractual employees under the LMHS scheme a major relief, she said the cashless medical facility would act as a protective shield for employees and their families amid rising medical expenses.CM Gupta added that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the government is working with the motto of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” to provide a sensitive and transparent system of governance. “The objective is to ensure that no employee, officer, or common citizen faces injustice, and everyone receives all essential facilities with dignity,” she said.“Social Welfare Steps”: Parvesh Sahib Singh
Delhi Minister Shri Parvesh Sahib Singh said both initiatives are significant steps towards social welfare. “These measures have brought smiles to dependents of deceased families and given reassurance to contractual employees, who will no longer bear additional financial burdens during medical emergencies,” he said.He recalled NDMC’s earlier initiative to regularise 4,400 temporary employees, stating these steps are taken to fulfil the government’s responsibility towards people, not for votes.“Humanitarian Initiative”: Bansuri Swaraj
MP Ms. Bansuri Swaraj said the long-pending demands for compassionate appointments and medical card facilities for contractual employees were approved by the NDMC Council with complete sensitivity. “This is not merely an administrative initiative but a deeply humanitarian one,” she said, adding that the CM’s compassionate leadership is reflected in these decisions.878 Contractual Staff to Get Cashless Treatment: NDMC Chairman
NDMC Chairman Shri Keshav Chandra said the distribution of appointment letters to 109 employees reflects NDMC’s dedication to providing dignity and financial stability to families of deceased employees. He informed that around 878 contractual employees across 38 categories, including engineers, nurses, and technical and clerical staff, and their families will now be entitled to cashless medical treatment at NDMC-empanelled hospitals and diagnostic centres.He highlighted NDMC’s achievements in 2025-26, including 954 promotions through 81 DPCs, MACP benefits to 4,357 employees, expedited pension settlements, and recruitment through DSSSB and UPSC.NDMC Vice Chairman Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal thanked the Chief Minister and said the initiatives reflect the government’s sensitivity towards employee welfare. He appealed to officers, employees and citizens to adopt public transport, carpooling, electric vehicles, energy conservation and “Make in India” products to build a cleaner and developed India.
